Cyclone Yasi Response 08/03/11

CYCLONE YASI RESPONSE UPDATE FROM WTMA & DERM 08/03/11

A downloadable map showing the approximate location of feeding stations is now available via the DERM website.

Volunteers are still needed at Garner’s Beach and Innisfail QPWS to help cut-up fruit. Work at Innisfail is occurring on Monday, Thursday and Friday afternoons. So far, work has only been on weekdays, but, if enough volunteers are interested, weekend sessions can be organised at Garner’s Beach.

Also, if you know anyone that needs to replace fencing post-cyclone, please encourage them to consider Wildlife Friendly Fencing. Unfortunately gliders, fruit bats, and many other animals get caught in barbed wire fences but there is a good range of alternatives available.
